The Power One 20A Wind Interface is suitable for turbines typically up to 6kw (depending on working voltage). This device is an economical solution which provides the following functionality.
- Rectifies wild AC from turbine into DC
- Provides capacitors for smoothing the DC to make it “inverter ready”
- Fast switching for dump load resistors to manage over-speed in gusts with configurable voltage settings
- Provides a frequency output to the inverter so that the power curve used can be based on RPM rather than voltage if desired.
